About IoTSamples

How IoTSamples creates practical IoT guides, planning tools, and source-linked device comparisons.

Last updated: 2026-07-31

IoTSamples helps learners, makers, students, product researchers, and engineering teams understand connected-device options before they commit to a build.

Our English-language guides answer practical questions such as:

  • What makes a device part of the Internet of Things?
  • Which board and connection fit a learning prototype?
  • What does a real IoT application measure, transmit, and do?
  • Where do safety, accuracy, privacy, power, and maintenance limitations appear?

Free planning tools

IoTSamples provides three free tools:

  1. The IoT Device Finder maps five project requirements to a ranked hardware profile.
  2. The IoT Project Idea Generator matches a board and constraints to a curated project brief.
  3. The IoT Device Comparison filters a reviewed board catalog and compares up to three devices side by side.

The tools use deterministic rules and local datasets. They do not create a different answer because a manufacturer paid for placement.

Source-first publishing

We prefer primary sources: standards organizations, government publications, protocol owners, and manufacturer documentation. Technical claims that can change are linked to the supporting source, and device records carry a review date.

We distinguish a documented fact from an editorial explanation. Price symbols are approximate comparison bands, not current retail quotations. Project briefs are learning prototypes, not certified designs.

What we do not claim

IoTSamples does not claim hands-on testing unless an article explicitly describes a documented test method and result. We do not convert manufacturer documentation into an invented personal experience. We also do not claim that a development board, article, or generated idea is medically, industrially, electrically, or legally approved for a real deployment.

AI may assist with research organization, outlines, editing, and draft production. A human-directed review process checks scope, sources, safety boundaries, internal consistency, and visible update dates. Read the full Editorial Policy.
